Iran’s Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi has called for the implementation of the agreements reached between Iran and Tajikistan, especially in the field of cooperation to face natural disasters.

During a meeting with the Chairman of the Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan Rustam Nazarzadeh on Friday, Vahidi emphasized the importance of cooperation and sharing experience, facilities, and equipment to better confront natural and man-made disasters.
He said that Iran and Tajikistan enjoy close and deep-rooted cultural ties, adding that the Persian language is the joint element between the two countries.
Referring to the meeting between the Presidents of Iran and Tajikistan, Ahmadi underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran has favorable relief capacities and cooperation between the two sides can lead to the synergy of these potentials.
He stressed that the region is experiencing natural disasters such as floods, droughts, and earthquakes, emphasizing the expansion of cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan to reduce the effects of such crises.
Nazarzadeh, for his part, said that the knowledge and skills of Iranian experts would enable his country to face natural and man-made disasters, calling for broadening education cooperation with Iran in the fields of natural and man-made hazards.
