SHARGHONLINE: The "Taste of Thai Cooking" event took place yesterday at the Thai Embassy. According to the Shargh Newspaper reporter, the Thai Embassy hosted a group of actors, tour guides, and social media influencers as part of this event. In this event, two national Thai dishes, "Tom Yum Goong" and "Pad Thai," were prepared with the help of skilled Thai chefs in front of the guests, who learned about how to cook these two dishes and volunteers tasted the fresh flavors of these Thai foods.
Pichat Bunsad, the Thai ambassador to Iran, said in his remarks, "For millions of visitors who travel to Thailand every year, the incredible variety of Thai food makes the country one of the most exciting places to visit." He added, "Thai cuisine represents four regions: Central, Northern, Northeastern, and Southern. Each one has a different character and unique flavors to present." Bunsad continued, "Thai food has always been an inseparable part of our culture and a way to show our love for each other. When you are in Thailand, you might have come across the famous phrase, 'Have you eaten food?' which is equivalent to 'How are you?'"
He stated, "When Thais talk about a meal, or even invite you to have a meal, it signifies friendship and affection, and it's the best way to demonstrate our hospitality." According to the Thai ambassador, Thai food is widely recognized as one of the best cuisines in the world. Thai dishes, embraced by many countries, have now become one of the most popular culinary options with a variety of flavors, including global street food like stir-fries, curries, soups, and noodles. Nevertheless, Thai food is easy to prepare, simple to cook, and the ingredients are well-known.
He added, "Last year, around 50,000 Iranian tourists visited Thailand, and in the first eight months of 2024, about 40,000 Iranians traveled to Thailand for vacations." At the end of the ceremony, guests were treated to Thai foods.
