He emphasized that the economy of any country needs a significant leap, and stated: "In the past decade, trade between Iran and Greece has decreased significantly. This trade between the two countries has reached less than 40 million dollars from a capacity of 430 million dollars annually."
The head of the Iran-Greece Chamber of Commerce continued: "We, as private sector actors can pave the way for major trade relations between the two countries. We have a serious plan to increase exports between the two countries in the Iran-Greece Chamber of Commerce, and I think the presence of this strong delegation from various economic sectors of Iran in Greece is the basis for a serious commitment to trade development."

Jahangiri, referring to the most important approach of the Iran-Greece Chamber of Commerce, stated: "We will seriously pursue the establishment of an air route between Tehran and Athens, and we expect this issue to be pursued seriously by the Greek side as well."
He added: "Greece, with over 30 million tourists per year, is one of the leading countries in the tourism industry. On the other hand, Iran, with its long history of Persian civilization and culture, strong tourist attractions, and four seasons, is one of the centers of attention in the field of tourism in the world."
Jahangiri continued: "I hope that in a short time, with the help of the respected ambassadors of Iran and Greece in Athens and the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we will be able to institutionalize and implement the issue of establishing an air route between the two capitals."
Jahangiri: Establishing trade offices to strengthen trade relations
The head of the Iran-Greece Chamber of Commerce also referred to the issue of establishing trade offices of the two countries in Tehran and Athens, saying: "Establishing these trade offices in the capitals can help to strengthen trade relations between the two countries. Holding trade tours and inviting Greek business delegations to visit Iran can be a response to the presence of the Iranian business delegation in the Athens Chamber of Commerce."

Jahangiri expressed regret over the decline in trade relations between the two countries in recent decades stating: "Trade between Iran and Greece has reached more than 400 million dollars at one point, but today it has reached less than 40 million dollars. This capacity can naturally be increased, and the way to increase it is also in the hands of us as the economic soldiers of our homeland, and we can do the job."
He, announcing the readiness of Iranian businessmen to invest jointly in Greece and inviting the Greek side to invest in Iran, stated: "Naturally, the presence of a large Iranian business and economic delegation in Athens can be an excellent start for the two countries, and it will also be followed by the support of the two governments."
Jahangiri concluded his speech by saying: "In the programs that we are pursuing in the Chamber of Commerce, we hope to soon create the conditions for establishing an air route between Tehran and Athens. In addition, the establishment of a trade office of Iran in Greece is one of the important programs that is on the agenda of the Iran-Greece Chamber of Commerce."
