7.6-magnitude quake hits Papua New Guinea
An earthquake measuring 7.6 magnitudes on the Richter scale struck the Eastern New Guinea region in Papua New Guinea on Sunday.

There have been no reports of damage and casualties as of yet, Reuters reported.
The earthquake that spread panic among residents, was at a depth of 80 km (49.7 miles) the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.
The US tsunami warning system issued a tsunami warning following the incident but it later said the threat had passed.
