The Iranian U-21 volleyball team managed to win Italy 3-2 (25-21, 23-25, 23-25, 25-16 and 15-9).
The 2023 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship was held in Manama, Bahrain from July 7 to 16. Iran remained undefeated after securing eight consecutive victories over their opponents.
In a congratulatory message on Sunday evening, President Ebrahim Raeisi expressed gratitude to the young Iranian volleyball players for bringing joy and happiness to the Iranian nation after winning the world title.
"The commanding, hopeful and undefeated victory of our country's under-21 national volleyball team in the world championship competition in Manama was achieved after displaying the capabilities and talent of our country's youth. It became a source of joy and happiness for our dear people," President Raeisi said in his massage.
"I congratulate the honorable Iranian nation on this valuable achievement. I sincerely appreciate all the coaches and all whom in the national volleyball team, especially our country's competent youths who increased Iran's prestige after hoisting the holy flag of the Islamic Republic at the top of the world. May God Almighty continue their victories in other sports competitions," his message further read.
