Iran denounces desecration of Holy Qur'an in Netherlands

In a statement on Thursday, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran strongly condemned the sacrilege of the Holy Qur'an in the European country of the Holland.
"The Dutch government is expected to shoulder its responsibility to prevent the desecration of the religious values and sanctities of more than two billion Muslims in the world and prevent the repetition of such hateful actions that are carried out under the guise of freedom of expression," the spokesman said.
The leader of PEGIDA, an Islamophobic group, once again tore down a copy of the Muslim holy book, the Qur'an, in front of the Turkish Embassy in the Netherlands on Saturday.
