MEHR: The Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri says that Iran is ready to assist Syria in fighting terrorism.
In a message to the Syrian defense minister and Army chief, General Bagheri said that the recent deadly terrorist attack, which targeted a Syrian military college, once again revealed the criminal nature of the Takfiri terrorists and their supporters.
The attack, he said, proved that the political use of terrorist groups will not only weaken the will of nations but will also make them determined to continue resisting until the elimination of terrorists and the failure of their supporters.
"The governments supporting these terrorists must also be held accountable for this great crime," he stressed.
Condemning the tragic incident, General Bagheri offered condolences to the Syrian government and nation and wished speedy recovery for those injured in the attack.
In a separate message, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also extended condolences to the Syrian Army, government, and nation.
Such inhuman actions show that the international community should be more determined and serious in the fight against terrorism, he added.
Iranian Foreign Minister and Foreign Ministry spokesperson also condemned the deadly attack earlier on Friday.
At least 100 people were killed on Thursday in a drone attack on a military academy in Syria.
Civilians and military personnel were killed in the attack on the military academy in the central province of Homs, Syria's defense ministry said, adding that "terrorist" groups had used drones.
Syria's defense and foreign ministries vowed to respond "with full force".
