Iran-EAEU to ink FTA in St. Petersburg on December 25
Iran’s deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy said that a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union’s (EEU) member states will be signed later this month.

Speaking at a news conference on the 6th edition of the Export Potentials Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Tuesday, Mehdi Safari said it will be signed in Russia’s St. Petersburg on December 25.
He also referred to the exhibition and said nearly 70 countries participated in the previous edition, which shows the high potential of Iran in this field.
Export of technical and engineering services is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a contract has been concluded with one European country for exporting 100 wagons, the deputy foreign minister added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Safari pointed to the resumption of trade and economic ties with Saudi Arabia after a 7-year hiatus and said that economic activists of the Arab country have voiced their readiness to take part in the upcoming edition of the exhibition to spur bilateral trade and economic activities.
The Sixth Export Potentials Exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran will be held in Thran from April 27 to May 5, 2024.
