During a meeting with the Acting Foreign Minister of the Taliban Amir Khan Muttaqi on Wednesday, Kazemi Qomi expressed Iran’s readiness to reinforce all-out cooperation and to help the people of Afghanistan, Iran’s embassy in Kabul said on X.
For his part, Muttaqi hailed Iran’s initiative in setting up a regional contact group to host a joint meeting of regional special envoys for Afghanistan in Kabul.
Back in December 2023, Kazemi Qomi and Muttaqi exchanged views on the issues related to the formation of a regional contact group in a bid to resolve problems in Afghanistan.
