MEHR: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has called for increasing national unity among the Iranian nation.
Speaking at a ceremony at Imam Reza (AS) holy shrine marking the 45th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on Sunday morning, Ghalibaf hailed the participation of the Iranian nation in the 22 Bahman rallies across the country.
45 years ago, on the 12th of Bahman 1357 in Persian Calender (February 1, 1979), Imam Khomeini (RA), the great founder of the Islamic Revolution, after fifteen years of exile and distance from his homeland, stepped into the soil of Islamic Iran amid the enthusiastic welcome of the people.
Ten days after his arrival to Iran, on the 22nd of Bahman 1357 (February 11, 1979), the Islamic Revolution of Iran reached victory over the former Shah of Iran.
Referring to the efforts of Imam Khomeini (RA) in the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the Iranian parliament speaker stressed that Imam Khomeini did not take a step except in the path of God.
"Religious faith and national unity are very important," he said, adding that if public order and social cohesion are not formed based on religion, the country will be weakened.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ghalibaf called on the Iranian nation to hold the upcoming parliamentary elections as glorious as possible.
