UK, US policies escalating crisis in West Asia region: FM

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met and held talks with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son on the sidelines of the 55th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
In this meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged views on bilateral and international issues and the situation in Palestine and the Gaza crisis.
Considering the fifty years of diplomatic relations between Iran and Vietnam as a valuable asset for both countries, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized the desire of Iran to continue these mutually beneficial cooperation.
Referring to the previous agreement between the countries to increase the volume of trade exchanges up to $2 billion, he emphasized the necessity of developing economic and commercial cooperation in addition to political, international, and parliamentary cooperation.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Amir-Abdollahian explained the positions of Tehran regarding the alarming situation in Palestine and Gaza.
The Iranian top diplomat considered the UK and US's policies in the Red Sea and their attack on Yemen to be the cause of the escalation of the crisis in the region.
Amir-Abdollahian stressed that Iran is working to end the genocide in Gaza and the war with diplomatic and international efforts.
The Foreign Minister of Vietnam also explained his country's positions regarding Palestine and Gaza and expressed concern about the humanitarian crisis in Palestine.
He also stressed the need for an end to the war, a political solution, and the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid, and announced his country's readiness to continue consultations and cooperation with Iran.
