Tehran slams German foreign minister's anti-Iran allegations

MEHR: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kan'ani says that the German foreign minister's anti-Iran allegations are aimed at covering up the human rights violations underway by the Israeli regime in Palestine.
Kan'ani described the German Foreign Minister's accusation against the Islamic Republic of Iran at the meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council as a futile attempt to cover up Berlin's support for the occupation and the European country's indifference to the flagrant violation of human rights in Palestine.
It is a bitter irony that some Western governments, with a history of comprehensive support for human rights violators and a direct role in providing the Saddam regime with chemical weapons during the era of imposed war against Iran, claim to defend human rights, the senior Iranian diplomat stressed.
"Under the pretext of protecting human rights and of course by politicizing it, the German authorities interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, and at the same time they boost the economy of their country by intensifying the activities of arms factories," Kan'ani underlined.
Referring to the ongoing brutal Israeli war against Gazans, Kan'ani considered the disastrous conditions in Gaza and the West Bank and the alarming situation of the Palestinian residents and refugees in Rafah as clear proof of the failure of the countries who claim to be a defendant of human rights.
He added that if Germany and its allies are really looking for the protection of human rights, they should appoint a special fact-finding committee over the Israeli regime's killing of more than 30,000 defenseless civilians.
Israel waged its brutal war on besieged Gaza on October 7 after Hamas carried out an unprecedented operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.
Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
