Iran issues statement regarding OIC summit final resolution
MEHR: Emphasizing the principled positions of Tehran regarding the issue of Palestine, Iran issued a statement dubbed "restrain" regarding some clauses of OIC summit's final resolution.
The second extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Palestine in Jeddah issued a final resolution on Tuesday, emphasizing putting an embargo on the export of arms and ammunition to the occupying regime of the Zionist regime.
The high-ranking delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by the Iranian Foreign Minister, participated at the OIC summit which was held at the request of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, and Jordan on March 5 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Emphasizing the principled positions of Tehran regarding the issue of Palestine, the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued the following statement dubbed as "restrain" regarding some clauses of the resolution:
1- The Islamic Republic of Iran's support of the provisions of the resolution of the OIC summit does not, in any way and under no circumstance, mean recognition of the Zionist regime.
2- The Islamic Republic of Iran firmly believes that the criminal acts of the Zionist regime in the occupied Palestinian territories have affected all Palestinians. Therefore, in any decision-making process or political and diplomatic action on how to deal with the crimes of the Zionist regime, the views and hopes of all Palestinian people and groups should be considered.
3- The Islamic Republic of Iran reiterates its principled positions regarding the only effective, peaceful, and practical solution to create lasting peace in Palestine, emphasizing that the initiative registered by the country in the United Nations to hold a national referendum in the Palestinian land with the participation of all Palestinians inside and outside it.
