The 120 MW Uma Oya project has two dams and a 19-kilometer water transmission pipe. The power plant of this project is located at a depth of 750 meters.
The Uma Oya multi-purpose project irrigates 5 thousand hectares of Sri Lankan agricultural lands.
The Iranian President arrived in Sri Lanka on Wednesday morning to hold talks with the officials of the South Asian country and attend several inauguration ceremonies.
The Iranian President is paying a one-day trip to Sri Lanka at the invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart.
During this trip, the two countries are set to reach favorable agreements, according to Iranian Government Spokesperson's remarks on Tuesday.
