MEHR: Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi says that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to assist Sri Lanka on its path to progress.
The Iranian President made the remarks while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Uma Oya project in Sri Lanka on Wednesday.
"What is more important than the major and multi-purpose project of Sri Lanka is the realization of the will of two countries and two nations[of Iran and Seri Lanka], who want to establish prosperity and comfort and better living for themselves," Raeisi said.
He underlined that Sri Lanka financed the project and its technical and engineering force was provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran, with its technical and engineering capabilities, implements major electricity and water projects in more than 20 countries of the world.
The relations between Iran and Sri Lanka can create a bright future for the two countries and two nations, he emphasized.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Raeisi said that Iran has experienced great progress despite the pressure caused by the enemies on the country.
