Thanking the efforts of the organizers of the first round of the 12th parliamentary elections, Raeisi expressed hope that the election's runoff would be held gloriously as well.
Referring to the issue of the security of the country, Raeisi said that the enemy seeks to create insecurity inside Iran.
He also thanked the Iranian security forces for maintaining the security of the country.
The first round of the 12th parliamentary elections was held on Friday, March 1st. Of the country's 87 million people, more than 61 million were eligible to vote in the polls.
Voters were taking part in the parliamentary elections to choose 290 legislative body members from over 15,000 candidates. Elected members will serve for a term of four years in the parliament.
Iranian media reported on Saturday, March 2nd that the rate of participation in the nationwide vote for the 12th term of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) and the 6th term of the Assembly of Experts was over 40%.
