Leader casts vote for parliamentary elections runoff

Run-off parliamentary election is as important as its first round, the Leader said, urging the Iranian nation to participate in this round of the elections as gloriously as its first round.
“The more votes, the stronger the parliament is, and the stronger the parliament, the more opportunities to work in the country.”
The first round of the 12th parliamentary elections was held on Friday, March 1st. Of the country's 87 million people, more than 61 million were eligible to vote in the polls.
Voters were taking part in the parliamentary elections to choose 290 legislative body members from over 15,000 candidates. Elected members will serve for a term of four years in the parliament.
Iranian media reported on Saturday, March 2nd that the rate of participation in the nationwide vote for the 12th term of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) and the 6th term of the Assembly of Experts was over 40%.
