According to media reports, citing Afghan local media, the explosion occurred at the ministry’s mosque.
Aljazeera has cited security sources as reporting that 25 people have been killed and dozens have been injured in the blast.
Meanwhile, Abdul Nafe Takour, the spokesman for the Taliban interior ministry, said that 4 worshipers were killed and 25 others were injured in the explosion.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for that attack.
The blast comes a few days after a suicide bombing on Friday, which killed 53 people in a classroom, including 46 girls and women.
